Suites Avenue Hotel, Barcelona.

Photos of the recently completed exterior facade that architect Toyo Ito (totally awesome 1996 site for such a famous architect) has designed for the new Suites Avenue Hotel in Barcelona, Spain, have emerged for your viewing pleasure.

Toyo Ito transformed what was previously a mediocre office building into an impressive facade of undulating waves, inspired by his love of the work of Antoni Gaudi.

Where the wild things are.

Maybe it was my last blog post that made me a tad nostalgic... but this just makes me cry with happiness! Used to be my absolute favorite book... I can't wait to see this come to life. And with Arcade Fire in the background? Tears. Seriously, tears.

I wish they made these in the 90s.

Elastico's Google Pillows are fun.

What is a Google pillow, you ask? The top searches from 2008 are commemorated on these fun little feather pillows.

Makes me wonder what the top search for 2009 will be. Recession? AIG? Robert Pattinson?

Lindsay + Nylon Mag = haute mess.

Mizz Lindsay Lohan graces the 10th anniversary cover of my faaaavorite mag, Nylon. As always, she's a totally hot mess and is apparently "getting her shit together". I sure hope not!

In the interview she speaks of her fashion influences Karl Lagerfeld and Marc Jacobs for LV. Acting career? Maybe. Singer? If Pharell is involved. Fashionista? For life.

Video below of her photo shoot with the mag:

Mercabarna-Flor.

Mercabarna-Flor, Barcelona’s striking new wholesale flower market \

The most compelling aspects of M-F are the multi-faceted (and multi-colored) slanted roof structure and outer shell. Designed by Willy Muller Architects, the market was inspired by an aerial view of flower fields in full bloom.

This incredible bulding is one of several highly anticipated new structures in Barcelona: Fira de Barcelona’s (Barcelona Fair grounds) nine pavilions and two 114-meter towers designed by Japanese architect Toyo Ito; Terminal Sur at the Barcelona Airport by Barcelona’s own Ricardo Bofill; and the Hesperia Hotel and Towers by the British Pritzker Prize winner, Richard Rogers.

Hopefully these will be blogged about in the near future...

Roche Bobois SS-09' Designs

Roche Bobois have released a few photos of their 2009 spring/summer furnishings collection.
The new collection will be out in full display at the upcoming Milan Furniture Fair... Just a little jealous that I can't be in attendance.

I'm a really big fan of this seasons color schemes - mostly white with vibrant splashes of color (the purple and pink touches are my fav); It's clean, classy, and fun without the tacky.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA.

People Magazine is reporting:

Project Runway
season 5 finalist Kenley Collins was arrested in Brooklyn Tuesday after allegedly attacking a male with a laptop.

According to the New York Police Department, Collins, 26, remembered by Runway fans for her brash manner and 1940s style, was charged with two counts of assault, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment after potentially striking a male in the head and face with a computer.

According to earlier reports from TMZ.com, the reality star allegedly attacked her sleeping ex-fiancé with her pet cat, water, several apples and the laptop. The Web site also reports that Collins is currently being held in jail.

Ugh, I still love her though!

Bjorg jewelery soothes the soul.

Norwegian designer Bjørg delivers her latest collection with stunning imagery. Traveling the world and living in India for three years influenced her latest eclectic pieces, completely unique in style: raw, innovative yet elegant and totally wearable. Mixing a contrast of metals and precious stones in an industrial style, Bjørg often uses animal motifs and poetic text engraved into the pendants and inscribed onto the rings. The pieces have a rare yet familiar feel – like discovering in your Grandma’s attic a rare gem that has a contemporary twist

HOT MAMA on a whole new level.

Ugh.

There's only so much I can take. Sofia, why must you tickle my heartstrings so effortlessly?

Sofia Coppola's short film for Parfum Miss Dior Chérie.

Enjoy.
Cry.
Die and go to heaven.

a sucker for fashion?

The portfolio of the famous still life photographer, Massimo Gammacurta contains a photo series of Fashion lollipops, from Chanel to YSL...

Irony? I don't know, I'm honestly too lazy and bored to stick around and find out.

An Ode to shoes.

While doing my routine Colettte daily browse... I couldn't help but notice the more than usual amount of UNREAL shoes. Here are some of my favorites:

PROENZA SCHOULER Court shoes € 430.00

LANVIN Escarpins € 960.00

VIKTOR & ROLF Sandals € 675.00

BALMAIN Sandals € 1215.00

ALEXANDER WANG Sandals € 560.00

Now, that's more like it.

Yes, I'm aware that I have done little to no coverage of Paris fashion week, but besides for LV, I found most to be uninspiring thus unblog worthy. HOWEVER, I couldn't resist sharing this masterpiece collection.

Forget about the mediocre attempt to create wearable fashion for the measly Target folk (myself included). Alexander McQueen brings his true art to Paris fashion week and reminds everyone why he is a
high fashion designer... the F/W 09 collection was absolutely, insanely, mind shatteringly, brilliant in all its excess.

Note: below images are not for children...

Beauty's in the eye of the beholder.

The Eye of the Artist: The Work of Devorah Sperber
Brooklyn Museum
Brooklyn, NY, January 26- May 6, 2007

New York artist, Devorah Sperber deconstructs familiar masterpieces to address the way the brain processes visual information versus the way we think we see.

Using ordinary spools of thread, Sperber creates pixelated, inverted images of familiar art pieces, which appear as colorful abstractions to the naked eye.

When viewed with optical devices, however, the works becomes immediately recognizable as the famous paintings.

A clear acrylic sphere, positioned in front of each work, functions like the human eye and brain.

The future is rather disappointing.

Official Lenovo's Pocket Yoga images have leaked via Lenovo's Flickr photostream.

Super widescreen and can fit in my pocket? I want. But honestly... why would someone want this when the iPhone is in existence? I mean, despite the convenient keyboard and large screen, it almost seems clunky and not very sexy. But I'd be interested to know its weight.

MKO rocks my world.

Mary Kate Olsen looked, to say the very least, ravishing at the MET's 125th Anniversary Gala in New York City last night. MKO stole the frickin' show.
